- Does anyone know of a way to build a long list of fields from smaller
- files of generic fields?
-
- I became frustrated trying to build a long list of fields for a database
- file, using SBasePro4, because each new field had to be added to the
- bottom of the list of fields. I wanted to be able to insert new fields
- without changing each field below the insertion point.
-
- I *BROWSED* the manual and saw "split" and "merge", assuming that this
- allowed me to split the existing fields in a file into smaller files or
- build a larger file of fields from smaller files - it seemed reasonable.
-
- So, I created separate files with related fields that I hoped to use as a
- library of pre-existing field definitions. I hoped to be able to somehow
- import these smaller files, as needed, and change the field names within
- the larger file so that the same smaller file can be imported again.
-
- Does anyone have a solution?
-
- TIA!
