  11. Does anyone know of a way to build a long list of fields from smaller 
  12. files of generic fields?

  14. I became frustrated trying to build a long list of fields for a database 
  15. file, using SBasePro4, because each new field had to be added to the 
  16. bottom of the list of fields.  I wanted to be able to insert new fields 
  17. without changing each field below the insertion point.

  19. I *BROWSED* the manual and saw "split" and "merge", assuming that this 
  20. allowed me to split the existing fields in a file into smaller files or 
  21. build a larger file of fields from smaller files - it seemed reasonable.
  22.  
  23. So, I created separate files with related fields that I hoped to use as a 
  24. library of pre-existing field definitions.  I hoped to be able to somehow 
  25. import these smaller files, as needed, and change the field names within 
  26. the larger file so that the same smaller file can be imported again.

  28. Does anyone have a solution?
